Resort area approved by Paris City Council

PARIS, TX-- The possibility of a resort could be coming to Paris.

Monday night the city council unanimously approved one sub-zone around Lake Crook, to be used as a resort area. The 300-acre zone does not guarantee a resort will come to Paris, but allows for that possibility.

It will also allow for boat, commercial and residential uses.

Earlier this year the council approved 14-sub-zones around Lake Crook, totaling over 3,000 acres.

"There's been a number of citizens and a number of design professionals and developers expressing an interest over this past year of the potential for development, different kinds of uses in the Lake Crook area, said City Planning Manager Alan Efrussy.

Council members will look to rezone the other 13-sub-zones as single family, retail and recreation areas at future meetings.
