Sherman, TX -- The trial for a man accused of running over and killing a Grayson County Sheriff's Deputy is underway.
Attorneys for Rickey Trent Stanley motioned for a change of venue. That motion was denied today by a judge.
A Grayson County jury has been selected. Opening statements began shortly after.
Stanley is accused of hitting and killing deputy Chad Key with his car last April while driving drunk.
He faces charges of intoxication manslaughter, causing the death of a peace officer, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon among other charges. He had other drunk driving offenses prior to these charges.
Stanley's trial continues Tuesday.
