ARDMORE, OK - The Southern Oklahoma Technology Center in Ardmore opened the doors to a new building on campus Thursday.
The SOTC held a ribbon cutting Thursday afternoon to celebrate the opening of the new Health Careers West Building.
Superintendent David Powell says this building is designed for students aspiring to be registered nurses, complete with simulated hospital rooms and mechanical patients.
"Everybody knows that there's a nursing shortage in the United States. [In] Oklahoma, absolutely the same. And we are doing our part to get students, young students, interested in the medical profession," Powell said.
Powell says this is the fourth building that has been built in the last five years adding to the campus-wide expansion.
