SPCA awarded animals seized from Hunt Co. animal shelter

HUNT COUNTY, TX-- The SPCA has been awarded full custody of over 200 animals seized from a Hunt County animal shelter last month.

Maura Davies with the SPCA says, they received final confirmation Tuesday that the owners of the Frank Barchard Memorial Animal Shelter did not file an appeal.

The owners had ten days after a Hunt County Judge ruled in favor of the SPCA to file that appeal. Davies says the 222 cats and dogs found will now be evaluated and put up for adoption in the coming days and weeks.
