SHERMAN, TX -- It's that time of year again, where you're starting to hear the ring of the Red Kettle bells.
This year, the Salvation Army is offering a new way to help out. They have started offering a Sponsorship option to anyone who wants to donate a large amount.
There are 3 levels for the sponsorship: Gold, silver, and bronze. The Salvation Army has already started to send out officers to businesses around the area to see if they are interested. This is the first time a program like this has been offered in Texas.
The money raised will go to help children at Christmas time with food and other items.
"So its going to give a lot of additional help to the salvation army. We have a lot more families this year and last year, we barely met our need last year," said Major Don Wildish, Commanding Officer for the Grayson County Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army is also still in need for volunteers to ring the bells this holiday season.
Red kettle collection begins the 16th of November.
If you are interested in a sponsorship, contact The Salvation Army Grayson County office.
