SHERMAN, TX -- Sherman police say the driver of a semi is lucky to be alive.
Police say around 10:30 Thursday night, he was headed south on Highway 75, when he fell asleep .
They say he left the highway near the Park Street exit. Officers say he plowed through a guardrail, and came to a stop in the creek.
Authorities say HazMat crews were called out due to fuel leaking into the water. It took 19 hours to pull the semi out of the creek.
The driver was not hurt.
