SHERMAN, TX -- Monday, the Sherman City Council approved a bond to help with improvements to the city's wastewater infrastructure.
The council approved a $1.78 million bond through the Greater Texoma Utility Authority.
The bond will go toward upgrading the wastewater treatment plant's ultraviolet disinfection system and the Eastside Outfall Sewer.
Mayor Cary Wacker says these projects will ensure the water is properly treated before entering the creek.
She says the bond will not raise water rates and won't impact taxpayers.
