SHERMAN, TX-- A $600,000r project to improve downtown Sherman is expanding.

Monday night, the city council voted to increase the budget by $47,000 to replace downtown water lines and put a better surface on the streets.

Last month the council voted to reduce the project's budget by $17,000, so city officials say the actual total increase is just $30,000.

Mayor Bill Magers says TXDOT is paying for more than half of the project, which should be complete by Thanksgiving.
