Sherman Police Dept. unveils newly updated website

SHERMAN, TEXAS -- The city of Sherman has tasked its various departments to make their websites more interactive -- Sherman Police Department has taken that challenge seriously.

Their newly updated website allows residents to submit anonymous tips online.

Those tips can be directed to the narcotics, criminal or traffic departments.

They've also made it easier to make a public information request and access forms.

Sgt. D.M. Hampton says this should help both citizens and police officers.

"It's going to be something that I think the community will hopefully embrace. It answers a lot of questions that I think people were afraid to ask," Hampton said.

Other city entities are also expected to unveil new and improved websites.
