SHERMAN, TX -- News 12 reporters stopped in two Texoma cities today, that participated in the National Pharmaceutical Take Back Initiative.
The Sherman Police Department set up at three locations to collect unused or unwanted prescriptions, to help dispose of them in a responsible and eco-friendly way.
Lieutenant Charles Smith says disposing of medications properly helps the entire community.
"It is a place to give people to dispose of their medications. We don't want them flushing them down the toilet. It gets into our water system and contaminates our water system," says Smith.
