SHERMAN, TEXAS -- The Sherman Streetscape Project is drawing closer to completion.
Tonight at the city council meeting, councilmembers are clarifying the budget for the project.
Mayor Bill Magers says TXDOT is paying for more than half of the project, that totals about $600,000.
About a month ago, city council decreased the project budget by $17,000 dollars. Tonight, they're deciding whether or not to push the budget back up by about $47,000 dollars, so they can replace downtown water lines and put a better surface on the streets.
The project will make sidewalks wider, change the flow of traffic, and add landscaping.
Mayor Magers says it should be finished by Thanksgiving.
