SHERMAN, TX 00 The Sherman Fire Department has a new fire engine. Saturday morning firefighters and residents pushed out old "Engine 83" to make way for the new one.
The dedication ceremony was held at Station 3 at 10 o'clock. Sherman Fire Chief Jeff Jones says the old engine is about 14-years-old and serviced more than 120,000 miles. He says it was time for a new and improved engine.
"It's equipped with two different kinds of foam so it enables us to fight a fire a little more safely and a little more effectively, hopefully reduce the amount of water damage in case of a fire, " Chief Jones said.
After the ceremony both kids and adults got to take a ride on the new truck.
