SHERMAN, TX -- A Sherman man accused of murdering a baby entered a plea Thursday afternoon.
22-year-old Salvador Moreno pleaded not guilty to capital murder and injury to a child with intent to cause serious bodily injury.
Assistant District Attorney, Kerye Ashmore said Moreno is accused of killing his girlfriend's baby last May at their Sherman home off Hill Street. Investigators said the infant died from injuries sustained from shaking and blunt trauma.
Ashmore said Moreno is currently in jail held on a $350,000 bond. He's also being held on an immigration detainer.
If convicted, Moreno could face the death penalty or life without parole.
