SHERMAN, TEXAS -- Sherman police officers and firefighters have kids saying "yo ho ho" this week for this year's pirate-themed fire safety circus.
Lots of laughs filled Wakefield Elementary School this afternoon as police and fire clowns taught students about the new way to respond to a fire.
They say instead of the "stop, drop and roll" that we're used to, you should now stop, drop, cover your face from flames and roll.
They also reminded kids not to play with fire, to run away from strangers and call 911 in an emergency.
Sherman police and fire clowns will also be clowning around at a safety fair this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting, at Pecan Grove Park west.
