SHERMAN, TX-- Sherman Bearcat Stadium roared with excitement Friday.

Every 4th grade class from the Sherman Independent School district took part in the 23rd annual field day.

They competed against one another in traditional races like the 100 meter relay and tug-of-war and non-traditional races, like the football relay.

Teachers said it's a nice break for the kids, since they just finished standardized testing.

"We had the STARR test and now we just get to like have fun and cut loose, cuz testing is over and now we get to go to summer," 4th grader, Nick Estes, said.

Teachers said this is a great way for the 4th graders to get to know each other because they will all be starting intermediate school next year.
