Sherman stabbing sends woman to hospital

SHERMAN, TX -- A suspect in a stabbing Monday afternoon in Sherman is still on the run.

Police say around 2pm, a woman called from a payphone claiming she had been stabbed by another woman at Diamond Place Apartments.

Police say the victim's right bicep was cut and was taken to a local hospital.

Officers are looking for the suspect and say when she is caught she will face a charge of "Assault with a Deadly Weapon".

Sergeant Bruce Dawsey says this was a domestic dispute. "People's tempers get short because of the heat. So as we get more into the summer and the temperatures start to go up, we'll start to see more domestic type calls," said Sgt. Dawsey.
