SHERMAN, TX -- A suspect in a stabbing Monday afternoon in Sherman is still on the run.

Police say around 2pm, a woman called from a payphone claiming she had been stabbed by another woman at Diamond Place Apartments.

Police say the victim's right bicep was cut and was taken to a local hospital.

Officers are looking for the suspect and say when she is caught she will face a charge of "Assault with a Deadly Weapon".

Sergeant Bruce Dawsey says this was a domestic dispute. "People's tempers get short because of the heat. So as we get more into the summer and the temperatures start to go up, we'll start to see more domestic type calls," said Sgt. Dawsey.

My hubby and I lived there almost 20 years ago and they were nice apartments then. what happened? 2 pools, community room... It's all who you lease to. Trash in , trash out.

Why is everything blamed on the weather? Really they are probably on drugs or alcohol.

The knife was found under my window and I asked the detective if it was safe ( I had just came home ) he said " as long as you aren't on the receiving end " yea a lot of comfort there . Theses apartments are horrible !

You asked if it was safe? What did you think was going to happen? The knife was going to magically jump up and attack you?

It's the people, not the apartments. Some people choose to commit crime, some don't and choose to make an honest, peaceful living. How is the detective supposed to know if it's safe or not. You got the answer that you deserved.

Wrong! It is somewhat the apartments when they lease/rent to trash!

So true .... Its all in who is allowed to live in the complex. These things can be avoided if there was good management.

The quality of people has declined drastically in last 10 years. Meth heads and crackheads. They choose to live like that. Apartment management has guidelines to follow. If they deny rental because somebody looks and smells trashy, they get a lawsuit.
