ADA, OK -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Ada.

Agents say around 5:00 Friday night an off-duty Ada Police officer heard a dispatcher report a shoplifter at Walmart over the radio. That officer was already at the store and attempted to stop the suspect as he was leaving Walmart.

The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Cordell Tebet, allegedly jumped into a pick-up, attempted to flee and nearly hit the officer. Authorities say that is when the Ada officer and an off-duty reserve Roff officer fired at the truck.

No one was injured during the shooting.

We are told a short pursuit followed and ended when one of the truck's tires went flat from being struck by a bullet. Investigators say Tebet fled from the vehicle, but was quickly apprehended. He was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and felony eluding.
