DENISON, TX -- The body of a Denison soldier, who died after an accident in Tennessee, was escorted home Friday.

The North Texas Patriot Guard escorted 29-year-old Specialist Wesley Harris's body from Dallas Love Field to Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.

Harris was a specialist in the United States Army 502nd Infantry Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and served two tours in Afghanistan.

Ride Captain Kelly Darst, with the North Texas Patriot Guard, says it is hard to see a young service member lost to tragedy.

"To me these guys put everything on the line for their country, they put everything for our freedom, for what we do everyday. They deserve everything we can give them," Darst said.

Harris leaves behind his wife and two young daughters.

His funeral will be held at Fisher Funeral Home at 6 p.m. Sunday and he will be laid to rest at Cherry Mound Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project 223 Rosa L. Parks Ave. Suite 301; Nashville , TN 37023.
