Southern Oklahoma lawmakers upset with Lake Texoma pump station agreement

SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA -- Two Republican lawmakers from southern Oklahoma are complaining that Governor Mary Fallin did not consult them before signing a water agreement with Texas Governor Rick Perry.

Representatives Dustin Roberts of Durant and Tommy Hardin of Madill are disappointed that they were not included in discussions before the "Memorandum of Understanding" was signed on January 17th.

The agreement allows the North Texas Municipal Water District to continue using a pump station on Lake Texoma located inside Oklahoma.

According to spokesman, Governor Fallin was trying to resolve the issue without having to take a new Red River Compact to congress.
