TOM BEAN, TX -- A special flag will be on display at Tom Bean Middle School. One that represents the student's good deeds for our soldiers.
The members of the Students Against Destructive Decisions wrote letters to wounded soldiers for their recent service project.
In recognition, Master Sergeant Howard Day, from the Army Wounded Warrior Program, presented the students a U.S. flag that flew in Afghanistan for 9 hours and 11 minutes.
Group sponsor Debbie Yates says the letters help raise the morale of both the students and the soldiers.
Yates said, "This is just one of our projects. And the kids are so proud. I'm so proud of them."
The letters will be sent to Fort Hood where there are 300 wounded soldiers.
