Stabbing in Ada may have been self-defense

ADA, OK-- City officials said the Ada homeowner who stabbed a man yesterday may have been acting in self defense.

It happened at a home on 819 east 17th street. Witnesses told police they saw the homeowner stab 32-year-old Nathan Turnbull in the abdomen because the homeowner felt threatened.

Officials said the homeowner told police that Turnbull who lives nearby entered his home in a aggressive manner and was cursing. The two got into a verbal confrontation and that's when police say the homeowner stabbed Turnbull with a knife.

Turnbull was taken to Carl Albert hospital and is in stable condition. No arrests have been made, police are still investigating the incident.
