State senator candidate arrested for warrants in Ada

ADA, OK - Pontotoc County Sheriff's Deputies said a District 13 state senate candidate was arrested over the weekend for not paying child support.

Jail officials said Smith was also wanted by authorities for not paying fines to the City of Ada.

In April, the Oklahoma Election board okayed Smith's eligibility to run as a candidate despite his criminal record.

Records show Smith is running against incumbent democrat State Senator Susan Paddack.

The election will take place Nov. 6.

His bond has not yet been listed.

What are you saying? That Republicans are all honest, law abiding politician immune to corruption...just because they are Republican? LOL! Should I begin the list of them that have actually been prosecuted? Get real. You think because a man claims he is against abortion and believes in Jesus makes him automatically a good man? Well..then we know what a man needs to claim to get your vote then right?! Pathetic comment..considering this guy is a Republican!

I know man. It is fascinating to watch people driven completely insane by mere words...words of Limbaugh, or Hannity, or Alex Jones. These people exist in a vacuum...a right-wing echo chamber. I'm surprised they even venture onto the KXII Website to have their propaganda face opposition...the majority post these hit-and-runs then disappear!

We are so proud of our local politicians. Their just like the big boys in DC. Dosen't matter what their name is or what party. We'll probably vote the other candidate now, who is more than likely a perfect citizen. At least until the've been there a while.

This is a fine looking young man right here. He has the right haircut and the right clothes. And so what if he has bent the law to keep a little more money in his pocket? It's just Big Government's fault for trying to take a man's money! As long as he goes to church he'll get my vote!
