ARDMORE, OK--Today is the first official day of summer and with temperatures rising your energy bill probably will too.

OG&E Energy corporation said you can take control of you summer electricity bills by using energy during off peak hours when it costs less. They said peak hours are from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and it costs more to generate and use electricity during that time because of customer demand.

Coordinator Mary Ann Rutledge said if you do things that require electricity like laundry and cooking, doing it before or after peak hours could save you up to $200 dollars for the summer.
