Suspect shot in Grayson Co. burglary attempt dies

GRAYSON COUNTY, TX - A Princeton, Texas, man who was shot last week attempting to burglarize a scrap yard outside Sherman last week died Monday morning, according to the Grayson County Sheriff's Office.

Lt. Rickey Wheeler said in a press release Monday morning 41-year-old Princeton native Shannon Sides died this morning after complications with a gun shot wound to the leg. Sides was shot in the leg by an employee in an attempted burglary of Stinky’s Scrap Yard on January 15.

Lt. Wheeler said Sides had undergone several surgeries after being flown to Plano Medical Center for treatment.

Wheeler said they have issued a warrant for a second suspect in the burglary, but are not releasing his name at this time.
