Suspected copper thief zapped in Denton County

DENTON COUNTY, TX - A suspected copper thief got more than he bargained for yesterday in Denton County.

The Denton County Sheriff's Office tells us 24-year-old James Johnson set fire to a telephone pole off Harmon Road last night trying to steal copper, but the pole and live electrical wires fell onto Johnson, shocking him. He was taken by air ambulance to Parkland Hospital, where he's now in stable condition.
