COLLIN COUNTY, TX - A Texas A&M student from Texoma was killed in a car accident Sunday on his way back to College Station.
22-year-old Taylor Gillespie died died Sunday morning. DPS says a Mercury Sable driven by Taylor's father spun out and hit oncoming traffic around 10 a.m. on State Highway 121 in Collin County. Taylor's father and the other driver were injured in the crash. Troopers say it was sleeting at the time of the accident.
Gillespie, a Leonard High School graduate, was a senior broadcast major and leader in the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. He was set to begin an internship this month at our sister station in College Station, KBTX-TV.
Funeral services are set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Leonard High School. A memorial fund has also been established in Taylor's name at the First National Bank of Trenton.
