GAINESVILLE, TX -- Cooke County's crisis center has fallen victim to theft.

Gainesville police say sometime between Sunday and Wednesday someone cut copper tubing from air conditioning units at Abigail's Arms' new location. The units hadn't even been installed yet. Police estimate the theft caused up to $3,000 worth of damage.

Abigail's Arms' new center has been under construction and is set to open by the end of summer. The project is funded solely by donations and volunteers.
