GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- A possible break in the case of a missing Leonard family after bodies were found in Grayson County Saturday afternoon.

Three bodies have been found in a field along Hwy 11 just between Sherman and Tom Bean, and investigators say they may be the missing family from Leonard.

Fannin County Sheriff Donnie Foster says a sheriff's deputy was following a lead and ended up on a property in Grayson County Saturday afternoon where he later found the bodies.

The Grayson County Sheriff's office and the Texas Rangers rushed to the scene, along with Sheriff Foster, and began searching the field and the two vacant buildings on the property for more evidence.

Foster says the three bodies may be Leonard residents Herald Harpst, his wife Sue, and their daughter Gina who all went missing last week. Evidence of foul play was found in the Harpst's home, but Foster says there is still a piece of evidence missing.

"We've been looking for a van, we didn't find the van but he did find three bodies." Foster said. "We believe that they may be our missing people from Fannin county. We can't confirm it at this time."

The three bodies are being sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office to be confirmed if they are the missing family from Leonard.

The Harpst's son, 52-year-old Thomas Taunton, has been arrested in Louisiana on three murder charges. Sheriff Foster says they are still looking for Taunton's van, which is a silver 2007 Dodge Caravan with Texas handicap license plate 8CPYH.

If you have any information on the wherabouts of this van you are urged to contact the Fannin County Sheriff's Office.
