Ardmore town meeting to address issues with horizontal drilling

ARDMORE, OK - An Ardmore town hall meeting is being held Thursday night to discuss issues with horizontal drilling in Oklahoma.

State Senator Frank Simpson said this is a chance for residents to have their questions answered on the topic.

Simpson said he hopes the meeting will clear up any false rumors about horizontal drilling.

Simpson said not only is horizontal drilling safe but it boosts Oklahoma's economy and cuts down on unemployment.

"It has been one of the elements that has helped our economy stay active and vibrant through this economic downturn that the rest of the country has experienced," Simpson said.

The meeting will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Ardmore Convention Center.
