Trial date set for man accused in Grayson County deputy death

GRAYSON, COUNTY, TX -- The trial has been set for the man suspected of hitting and killing a Grayson county deputy while driving drunk.

Today the trial for 29-year-old Rickey Trent Stanley was set for October 14th.

Stanley's been charged with murder, intoxication manslaughter, four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, DWI and driving with an invalid license.

He pled not guilty to all charges last month.

Investigators say Stanley hit Deputy Chad Key on Highway 82 last April as Key was directing traffic.

He remains in the county jail.
