Trial set for Okla. man charged in teen's death

DUNCAN, Okla. (AP) - A man charged in the death of a southwest Oklahoma teenager has waived his right to a mental competency hearing.

Reports say, Miles Sterling Bench waived his right to have a competency hearing last week. Bench is charged in the June 2012 death of 16-year-old Braylee Henry.

Henry was reported missing June 6 and her body was found in a secluded area near Velma. Authorities say they arrested Bench shortly afterward near Weatherford, where he was driving Henry's car.

Authorities allege that Henry was killed after she stopped at a Velma gas station where Bench worked as a clerk.

Bench's jury trial is set for Aug. 19 in Stephens County, with a pretrial hearing scheduled for Aug. 7.
