Two houses catch fire Saturday in Texoma

LEONARD & WHITEWRIGHT--Two homes caught fire Saturday afternoon.

A historic home in Leonard, Texas caught fire around 4:30 p.m.
Firefighters said when they arrived to the home on Main Street the back side was engulfed in flames.

Officials said no one was inside the home when the fire started and the home sustained severe fire and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Leonard, Bailey and Trenton fire departments all responded.

Around the same time a home in Whitewright, Texas, also caught fire.

A mother and her three children were home at the time, but were able to get out of the house unharmed.

Mayor Allen Wesst, of Whitewright, said he believes the home is a total loss.

The home owner told News 12 their previous home burned down last summer.
