TEXAS -- Thursday marks the beginning of TxDOT's annual Click it or Ticket awareness campaign.
Law enforcement officers will be ticketing drivers and passengers who aren't wearing their seatbelts.
More than 5,000 traffic accidents in Texas last year resulted in fatal or serious injuries due to passengers not wearing seatbelts.
The law requires all passengers including those in the back seat to buckle up or pay a fine as high as $200 dollars per person.
