POTTSBORO, TX -- Friends and family remembered Grayson County resident Dickey Dixon at a vigil Friday night.

"We are glad we got some resolution. It didn't turn out the way we would have liked it would have, but...we have him back," Jimmy Dixon said.

The 83-year-old Army veteran was found dead Wednesday afternoon nearly two weeks after he disappeared. Dixon's body was found about a mile away from his home. The American Legion in Pottsboro hosted a dinner this evening followed by a sky lantern release and candlelight vigil.

A fund has been set up in Dixon's name. The money will be used to create a scholarship for a Pottsboro High School student and support Community United Effort, the non-profit group who helped search for Dixon.
