PARIS, TX-- A walking event held in Paris is hoping to improve the health of residents one step at a time.
This is the first year Paris has hosted the two mile Walk with a doc.
Dr. Amanda Green says this free event is a way to encourage people to get out and be healthy. She says they have a speaker each month who talk to walkers about the benefits of exercising.
Dr. Green says the program started in Ohio and has spread to over 30 states and a few countries.
"Pretty much any disease you can think of, exercise will improve that," said Dr. Amanda Green. "We're just trying to strike all of that at once."
Walk with a Doc is the third Thursday of every month.
They meet at the Collegiate Drive entrance of the Trail De Paris at 6 P.M., and encourage everyone to come out. You can even bring your pets.
