Whitesboro stabbing sends 1 to jail, 1 to hospital

WHITESBORO, TX -- One man is in the hospital and another is behind bars after a stabbing in Grayson County Friday night.

The Grayson County Sheriff's office says 60-year-old Gerald Allen Hampton was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Deputies say Hampton allegedly stabbed his daughters boyfriend with a knife at a home in the 900 block of Old Sherman Road, just east of Whitesboro around 9:15.

Authorities say the 35-year-old man who was stabbed was air lifted to a Plano Hospital in stable condition.

Neighbors recall the scene.

"We just saw an ambulance and then the next thing you know a cop comes and you know they're speeding real fast you know down a rock road and we didn't know what was going on and all we heard was yelling," neighbors Dillon and Cody Winchester said.

Hampton is being held in the Grayson County Jail on a $15,000 dollar bond.
