EMMETT, Okla. -- Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said a semi truck driver lost control Monday on the curve just south of Emmett on Hwy. 78 and rolled onto the drivers side.

Emergency officials say the driver, James Jeter, 59, of Howe, was admitted to the hospital in critical condition with neck and head injuries.

He was flown to Plano Medical Center. Troopers said he was in critical condition.

No one else was involved in the crash.

The road is shut down while crews try to clean up the accident scene, including the spilled sand and gravel.

They hope to reopen the highway by around 6:30 p.m.

OHP is investigating what caused the driver to lose control. The driver's name has not been released.
