DENTON COUNTY, TX -- Three years after the discovery of zebra mussels in Lake Texoma, Texas Parks and Wildlife says the invasive species has been found in Lake Ray Roberts north of Denton.

The discovery was made during DNA analysis of water samples collected from 14 North Texas reservoirs.

While 12 of the samples tested negative, zebra mussel DNA was confirmed in the Lake Ray Roberts and Lake Texoma samples.

Zebra Mussels are currently known to have infested 29 states and more than 600 lakes or reservoirs in the United States.
