Updated: 08/17/2009 - GRAYSON, CO-A proposed County Wide Code Red Alert is gaining support in Grayson County. Monday the Sherman and Denison City Councils agreed to join the program. Making them the 12th and 13th of 16 cities in Grayson County to approve the system. As Rita Kotey reports Emergency Management officials say if all16 cities in the county approve it, life-saving information could be available more quickly to all county residents.

Habitat for Horses Struggling

Posted: 08/16/2009 - Bonham, TX – With 76 horses rescued from a ranch in Denton County and 23 taken from a ranch in Fannin County, animal rescue groups are struggling to stay afloat. The Humane Society reported they are under a lot of financial stress because the money to take care of rescued animals just isn’t there, and Habitat for Horses says they need more help.

Six other horses had to be euthanized because they were in such poor health. The owners say they hadn’t realized the horses were so severely mal-nourished.
