One day I was contacted by Tara Wall. She asked me if I would be interested in hearing her mother’s story. She said, “My mother has Stage IV ovarian cancer and is on a mission to help as many women as possible detect this cancer in the early stage.”

I met with Martha Sutherland beforehand to learn more about what her goal is. I informed her that an interview would be very personal and some tough to hear questions will be asked. She needed to know upfront. Martha looked me straight in the eyes and said, “If it takes reality to scare these women to get early detection, then I want to open myself up to the viewers and tell it like it is!” She does, as you will see and hear when you view this powerful, courageous interview.

You will learn about the disaster of “self-diagnosis” and ignoring your body’s symptoms. Martha learned that another local woman she met at a cancer center hundreds of miles away would eventually become a partner in her mission. They became best of friends until the partnership broke up, at least here on earth, when this woman lost her battle. Many of us would give up at this point, but not Martha. You’ve heard of tough women and Martha is second to none. Anyone that knows her knows what I mean.

Tara joins our interview as she shares her emotions from the day of that doctor’s appointment when Martha heard the word cancer. Log on now and here her courageous and inspirational story, and join her mission.

Wow, this is really an eye opener for women. Thankyou Martha for sharing your life with us. You have most certainly taught us a great deal. We seem to take our bodies for granted. I want to be you when I grow up. Best wishes to you and your family.

Rick, Thank you for your story on Martha. I too have ovarian cancer, stage III. I was 41 when diagnosed and am a 10 month survivor. I just wanted to add to the story that although I knew nothing about ovarian cancer, I did not ignore symptoms or wait too long to go to the doctor. I thought I probably had a bladder infection and went to the doctor within one week of the onset of symptoms. It truely is the silent killer because you just don't know. I have always been very faithful in my yearly check-ups. They also believe my cancer happened in only a few months and while CA-125 tests could save lives, I had just had a yearly check-up the previous Oct. and was diagnosed in June. If I had of had a CA-125 in Oct., things would probably have still shown up as fine. I am in remission and have been since Dec., I too do not want my prognosis. God is in control; I don't want to live on a time line. Thank you for educating the public, as much as one can educate

I know people from my family that had cancer and it’s not really a good thing to have during your life. My grandmother had cancer and she started to get so skinny that she thought that she was losing weight for a great reason. And I felt really sad for her I wanted to be by her side just to keep an eye out on her.I was feeling sad about her.I wanted to tell her that I love her very much and I dont want anything bad happening to her because she was my best grandmother I ever had. I told her to fight womens cancer.Because if other people can survire it you can too.
