Posted: 8:16 PM Apr 25, 2012

ATOKA COUNTY, OK - A high speed police chase through Atoka County Wednesday night ended in a standoff.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Carl Lee Muennink was pulled over in a Jeep Wrangler during a routine traffic stop in Stringtown when he fled on U.S. Highway 69, leading officers on a high speed chase through Atoka and Tushka. When he reached Caney, spike strips were deployed.

Muennink was arrested after a brief standoff. He now sits in the Atoka County Jail. OHP says he could be facing up to two felony charges.

"He could be facing attempting to allude, running a road block, and could be reckless driving," Lt. Scott Hampton of the Oklahoma highway Patrol said.

No injuries were reported.
