SHERMAN, TX-Registration is now open for the 5th annual "KidSwing" golf tournament benefitting the "Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Several have already signed up at the "Academy Sports and Outdoors" in Sherman for the 9-hole, best ball scrambles tournament" for kids 7 to 18 years. Colin Ashlock, a 7th grader from Van Alstyne, got involved with "KidSwing" after he was diagnosed with legg calve perthes disease--which made it painful to walk--a few years ago.
"I do it to give money back to the hospital, to the Texas Scottish Rite hospital, because they've done so much to me and now I'm able to walk," he said.
Colin hopes to raise $10,000 at the tournament. If you missed Saturday’s registration, there will be another one May 19th.
