GAINESVILLE, TX -- Red, White, and Blue streamed along side a Texoma roadway as dozens of heroes were recognized at the Medal of Honor parade Saturday morning.

"T-6" Trainer planes circled downtown Gainesvile as the parade rolled through the streets. Medal of Honor recipients were greeted with applause and salutes as they waved to the crowd in military vehicles. Veteran organizations from Texoma and the DFW area also participated along with the Gainesville High School marching band and emergency responders.

Vietnam veteran and Sherman High School Librarian Tom Brott says meeting the recipients was inspiring.

"It's a rush because these are our heroes and I'm a veteran myself so I know the sacrifice they gave, it's awesome," Brott said.

The Medal of Honor recipients held a book signing right after the parade.
