ARDMORE, OK - A new hotel at Lake Murray is one step closer to becoming a reality.

Oklahoma State Representative Pat Ownbey discussed the progress of a bill that would build a new Lake Murray Lodge Friday at the Chamber of Commerce's Legislative Luncheon.

The house budget committee recently okayed using $15 million in oil and gas money from the park to build it.

The new lodge would go on a small point and allow diners to sit out over the water.

Ownbey said if the house approves the bill without any changes, it will go to Governor Mary Fallin.

He said Fallin is a supporter of the bill.
