Citizen 23, you are right and I could not agree with you more. However, many of these people do not want to pull out of these situations and that is a large part of the problem as well. The liberals (i.e. democrats) are bent on entitlement programs and Obama wants to add more even with this unprecendented deficit. People have no incentive to pull out of their situation, why should they?
It doesn't matter if you cleanup the hotel or not there will still be drugs in Sherman. People have choices and it's not the hotels nor the Sherman polices fault they made the choices they made. As for people living in hotels that is thier choice also. There are jobs to be had everywhere and homes for rent and sale also. I am not saying the money that should go for bettering life in Sherman is going where it should I am just saying no need throwing rocks at people that are trying to make ends meet the same as us. It is not just in Sherman that there is a growing drug problem it's everywhere. To be honest I don't believe it is any worse than it was 20 years ago it is just in our faces more now. This guy did not have to choose to do drugs if that is what he did nor did he have to choose to be stupid he just did so the only one to blame here is the dummy that made all the bad choices .
First of all Michael you might want to learn how to spell or atleast use spell check before you question someone intellect and as for the $30.000 you must not know the prices of much of anything. Display cases are not cheap my friend nor is plate glass not to mention carpet and merchendise. Oh yeah the cleanup crew is in there too. Check you preces before questioning someone elses estimates. Lorie, will that stop this behavior?? Ofcourse not. The problem is much bigger than what your congested mind can imagine. The naked man obviously has issues which are not being addressed by the system.

they wont just leave sherman if they kick these people out of hotels.
It's not the hotels fault that this city has a growing drug problem and of course it’s about money they are a business in this bad economy. These type of people are in and out of jail but never seem to stay very long because we don’t have room or the money to deal with this. I think it’s time the community take notice of the drug problems, mental health patients and the growing number of homeless and displaced families that lead to this. Instead of giving handouts we need to find a way to empower these people to do for themselves. Give them just enough support to pull out of these situations. Hotels are homes to these people and they pay more than the cost of a full apartment just for one room for a family because they either have bad credit or cannot save up enough for a deposit while paying daily to keep their family off the streets. There are organizations in Sherman I feel just write checks for the tax write off and are not truly trying to help anyone but I'm young so what do I know.

The Sherman cops can't do that. The stories would end up here, and really dumb people would have to start putting their own town down, instead of other towns.
