Send Man on lawnmower killed in Bells accident

BELLS, TX - A Bells man is dead and two other people were injured after a three vehicle accident in Bells last night.

Texas DPS Troopers say around 9 p.m. 57-year-old Armando Soto was backing his riding lawnmower out of a pickup truck onto U.S. Highway 69 near Cherry Lane when he was hit by a car headed north on the highway. He went airborne and was then hit by a car headed south.

Soto was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to a local hospital.

U.S. Highway 69 was shut down for two hours in both directions, but has since reopened.
