FANNIN COUNTY, TX -- Your ride through Fannin County could soon be a bit smoother, as State Highway 78 is getting resurfaced.
Texas Department of Transportation officials say about 10 miles of State Highway 78 from State Highway 11 to State Highway 56 will be affected until June of next year.
"With this type of heavy construction, when we're rehabing the roadway and cement treating 14 inches into the existing pavement, its major construction. There will be delays there will be one lane traffic," said David Selman, area engineer for Texas Department of Transportation.
Officials say heavy truck traffic has damaged the road.
