I SURE WISH I HAD SOME LAND IN THAT AREA THEY COULD CROSS IT AND DO WHAT EVER THEY NEEDED TO. THEY WILL CLEAN UP THE MESS BEFORE THEY LEAVE. THE GOVERNMENT SEES TO THAT AND JUST THINK OF THE MONEY SOMEONE COULD MAKE. THERE ARE PIPELINES EVERYWHERE SO SHUT UP AND GET OUT OF THE WAY. SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE DIGGING UP THE DIRT WHERE YOUR TAKING UP SPACE GRIPING

We don't need this pipeline to go all the way to Canada, but why not? In case anyone missed it, and you did if you pay attention to the O administration, the Green River formation in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana was found to have 1.5 TRILLION barrels of recoverable oil, or equivalent to the rest of the global reserves combined and around 50 years worth of US consumption. Most of it is under federal land. There was a GAO report published this week on the subject. This idea that we have no oil is just plain BS. Our President continues to say we have 2 percent of the global reserves. He is a LIAR! And you have to ask yourself why? With proper management and budgeting, this could go a long way to restoring prosperity, but we have to get new leadership that isn't hostile to the resource.

Hard to believe there are this many people who can find fault in a badly needed project that will bring some real prosperity to a place that so badly needs it.

How do you prove 'saved jobs'? Had GM been allowed to go broke as it deserved, do you think the demand for cars would have gone unmet? Since when has that ever happened? Don't you think Ford would have thrived, someone would have bought GM or it's profitable assets and cranked out whatever it takes to meet demand? The auto bailout was a Union favor, it had noting to do with business. The stimulus was a financial institution bailout to keep the corrupt system in place that has been legislated into being too big to fail. They are back to making billion with free money from the fed just to keep some appearance of a sustainable economy. 3 trillion borrowed just to keep up appearances.

It is now "commen" knowledge that you are an idiot.

Well, I guess then that you don't consider Nebraska a state, or not one that is worthy of having rights. You would have preferred that the boogie man federal government just approve the original route no matter what the state of Nebraska thought. Gay marriage? So what? It's not like he's proposing a constitutional amendment to make it legal. Amending the sacred US Constitution, you know the one that our infallible founding fathers created, has become the domain of the Republicans. They just can't seem to be satified with it. Let's see, an amendment to end abortion, one to require kids to recite the pledge to the flag, one to require school prayer, one to outright ban gay marriage, one to balance the budget, one to ban income tax, one to require everyone to join the military, and one not to allow women or gays to join...actually, there have been so many it's hard to keep up. Geez, Michelle Bachman alone must have proposed a half dozen or so. If I recall, the last one pushed by Dems was about 30 years ago with the Equal Rights Amendment, which of course the Republicans managed to defeat. Anyway, I am not surprised you would have voted for the inmate. He's got the character that would appeal to your kind.

Yes, you dolt, there were census takers under every other administration when the census was conducted. The point you obviously miss is that no other administration had such a lousy job creation record that they had to hold these jobs up as "new jobs created by this administration". You are the dose of BS!!

I just want to say that I hope not everyone believes them when they say this will bring several jobs in. The pipeliner business is booming, but this pipeline will be built by only Union workers. They will bring all these welders in to build this one. So none of the local pipeliners will even have a chance unless they want to go Union. Just throwing that out there.

Hahaha!!! I agree!!!

Anonymous if you owned the land this pipe line is going down on you probably would not be as smart as you think you are.

I remember the last pipeline coming through Bryan County. The large trucks with equipment trashed many of the county roads and bridges. Gross dollars spent don't always equal net value to area. This will be a bump of total dollars for one year then the cost will be dealt with for the next five to ten years

Wow! I wish we were all as smart as you.....or at least as smart as you think you are....

Yes Joey, I am pro-state's rights. You know, like Obama said he is. Well, at least on the gay marriage subject - it all depends on what he thinks people want to hear and how it will help him get re-elected. I would have voted for the inmate too!

Oh those evil Republicans! How dare them promote Capitalism and God forbid an oil company make any money! What do you people want? Really! What will make the Democratic party happy? If you want .50 gas and equality for all you're living in a dream world. Maybe we should all just work for the same pay and drive the same cars and eat the same food at the same resturants and all millionairs should be forced to leave because they might be a Republican or work for an evil oil company! Those stupid people!!! LIES LIES LIES THE END IS NEAR KILL REPUBLICANS FOR MAKING MONEY AND KEEPING THE POOR MAN DOWN IT'S ALL SOMEBODY ELSES FAULT MY LIFE IS MISERABLE!!!!!!

I agree with most of that, but you might want to check the numbers put out by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office on the stimulus. Between the stimulus and the auto industry bailout, hundreds of thousands of American jobs were saved keeping the unemployment rate way lower than what we would have seen without them. As far as this pipeline, the local oil companies have said that it will free up the oil surplus/bottleneck at the Cushing refinery which will make it easier to get the oil to the coast, and into the global market. This will have an adverse effect on our gas prices in the middle of the country. We now enjoy paying about a dollar a gallon less than they do on the East & West coasts. That will no longer be the case when our local crude is pumped to the more profitable global markets.
