Yea, I also heard that an Austin woman went before one of the death panels recently, but was turned away because she didn't have a picture ID. Some kind of states rights issue was involved. Ya know, you can't even receive a death sentence without one?

I have heard of those chips. Also, because of Obamacare, all hospitals have to rub liberal juice on newborns to begin the indoctrination process...

The only people that would carry an open firearm are idiots looking for trouble, cause that's exactly what they're gonna get. Someone that thinks he's tough will wear one, then he'll go to sleep for good

The Hippies are in power? Really? You can't be serious. If the Hippies were in power, pot would be legal, camping in public parks to protest Wall Street excesses wouldn't be illegal, and we wouldn't start unnecessary, undeclared foreign wars. Speaking of free speech, it's sounds like you were offended by those protesting hippies exercising their free speech rights. BTW, even if there may be a few hippies that graduated to elected office, the laws you say are so necessary to pass are a reaction to laws and restrictions placed upon our gun toting rights long before any hippies came along. I mean possession of a Tommy gun was outlawed back before there were beatniks, let alone hippies. Furthermore, Obama has not proposed any additional restrictions on gun owning or gun toting. In fact, your gun toting rights (in National Parks) were expanded under Obama. What you really need to be concerned about are the GPS and audio tranmitting micro chips being planted in all our newborns courtesy of Obamacare.

Then your right to carry a gun isn't threatened is it? Looks to me like the majority of states approve it. It is a states right issue, not a Federal one. It would take a majority in the Senate AND the House for Obama to get away with something close to "taking your guns away". Not gonna happen. Not even among the Blue-Dog Democrats. Not among the Dixiecrats. Hell I doubt Northern Democrats would vote for political suicide like that. And Obama knows he would fail if he tried.

Cause most businesses and my work ban them...duh! So I leave it in the glovebox. Do you find it more logical that I bring it into work with me and risk my job?!

So you extrapolate from that statement, which is political true, a specific attack on a particular constitutional right that would have to be overridden by a majority in the House and the Senate? You guys see Black Helicopters everywhere you go don't you? And his statement does not support the claim that Democrats have acknowledged they will take away gun rights. Still waiting on a specific statement, by Obama, that he intends to attempt to get the House and Senate to pass a law to take your guns away...

I have not read the law in its entirety and curious if the holstering of the weapon was addressed. The type of holster I used for conceal carry has a different retention system than the one that I use for open carry. When concealed the odds of someone coming up from behind me & grabbing my weapon is slim so I use a passive retention level 1 holster. If carried open I would use a level 2 or level 3 system which actively retains the weapon lessening the chance of someone taking your weapon from you.

"I keep a gun in my car"...where's the "logic" in this?

Not long ago, Obama was heard by one those "supposed-to-be-closed-microphones" telling a Russian diplomat to convey to Putin that after the election he could a lot of things he can't do now..........

Now who's playing "look how tough I am"?
Posted by: Anonymous on May 13, 2012 at 09:44 AM

Doubt there will be many exercise this right. Mostly in rural and remote areas. Still think it's a good decision. A balance of open and concealed carriers should be a threat against the bad guys.

Bad attitude!!!

When I saw this open carry law I thought "what now, a law biding citizen can already carry a gun with a permit, why do we need this"? Then I was corrected and found the majority of states have a similar law and then I thought "what is the big deal then"? Then I realized that this left wing radicals that we have in power are waging war on our rights and the free citizens (Republicans) are trying hard to hang on to our constitutional rights and scrambling to get these laws on the books to ensure our freedom. Like our freedom of speech. We are free to say what we want as long as it doesn't offend anyone. They sneak in laws that restrict our freedoms without removing them. I would say that this upcoming election has got to be one of the most important one since the late seventies when the left put us in the hole then. The protesting hippies that ruined our country are in power and it's time to take it back and get us out of the hole THEY put us in once again.

I dispute this. Give quote and source. How do they propose getting this to pass the House AND Senate? What is their plan?
