MADILL, OK - Deputies in Marshall County will be cracking down on the distribution of synthetic marijuana.

Undersheriff Donny Raley said the Marshall County Sheriff's Office has seen a steady increase since in the substance over the past few years.

Authorities said synthetic marijuana has effects similar to methamphetamine.

He said the department is also focusing on the illegal sale of prescription drugs.

Last week four Madill residents were arrested in a drug sting operation.
